HOW DOES THIS PROGRAM WORK?
Upon purchasing one of the Build Options, you will be given the same information and resources that are being used by home builders all around. You will have the final say in who you use, what products you use, how much you spend, when things need to happen, etc. Freestone will be there by your side to help navigate the schedule, give insight, answer questions and to inspect the work of your sub-contractors.
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES?
The main advantage in acting as the builder on your project is the tens of thousands of dollars in savings. The typical builder will charge about $150,000 to manage a custom home build, but now, you can do it for a fraction of the cost. You will be able to manage the schedule, expectations, quality and all things that are important to you as the home owner.
DO I HAVE WARRANTIES?
YES! You will maintain all of the warranties that are provided by the sub-contractors. Just because you do not have a builder involved, does not mean you lose out on the warranties and quality craftsmanship.
CAN I GET BANK FINANCING?
Yes, you can get bank financing with lenders that offer construction loans to those that are acting as an "owner builder".
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE TO BUILD?
This will vary drastically in the size and complexity of the home. However, thanks to the Freestone Built program, you will have full control over the schedule and can pump the brakes or hit on the gas as you see fit! A 3,000sqft home with standard finishes should take anywhere from 8-10 months to build.
WILL CONTRACTORS WORK WITH ME?
Sub-contractors do not like being pulled all over and they love when you have all the needed information. Luckily, you will have Freestone by your side to help facilitate those conversations and help stay on track.
